Think about the colors of pumpkins and nutmeg, coffee or basil...you are getting ready to spend alot of time indoors! Did you ever think that the color of the walls around you could be making you feel sick, depressed, or anxious? Here's some facts and tips when choosing colors: - Warm colors like shades of orange, rust, and terra cotta are great in kitchens as they uplift your spirits, make you feel comfortable, and aid in digestion - An all-white room can be as extreme as one that is all black. White can cause you to feel disconnected and not wanting to spend time in a space. - Brightly colored walls in a baby's room can make a baby feel unsettled and cause them to not sleep well. - Colors in your bathroom that complement your skin tones will make you look and feel better. A color like green can make you feel and look sickly. - Turquoise creates a cool, large, fresh feeling and does not distract you if you need to work which makes it a great color in an office or study. Because it clears your head, it aids in communication so it would also be good in a board or creative room. - When using blues, make sure you balance them with warm colors so it does not become too cold. - Remember to always get sample quarts of colors you are choosing before purchasing. I make sure to do this on all projects because colors will change once they are on a wall in your space under different lighting conditions. I have just finished a great kitchen remodel and will be posting professional pictures by the end of October. I have taken on a photographer to shoot all of my spaces.
